Building a Liberal Socialist. Popular articles on the website.

WIN_20200321_21_11_15_Pro

Intro: Socialists believe in equality, inclusion and collective responsibility. Liberals have values of justice based on freedom, equality, and fairness. In High School, I was a weirdo freshly converted into Environmental Liberalism from the guy with the scary slide show Al Gore. I went on to join the environmental club in high school & volunteered to handle E-waste causes. At the same time in East Northumberland Secondary School I was also involved with improving gay rights & fighting discrimination at the school.

Fighting: Okay a lot of people I think will be upset if I don’t mention fighting discrimination meant actually learning to fight. Yes at ENSS I was on the wrestling team. In college at Seneca, while working on my second Loyalist College diploma, I learned Kickboxing. Up until grade 8 living in Trenton Ontario is a bit of a rough life. So we learned to fight among a Social group. Then in High School I joined my Wrestling team & learned boxing in college. I still work to stay in fighting shape even though I no longer participate in martial arts actively. What I found out by training fighting? If you stay in fighting shape & keep a good moral character the chances are you will never have to fight.

From there I went to Loyalist College got two diplomas in Advertising & Business. I went to College in Kingston Ontario for a Graduate Certificate program in Interactive marketing communications. Recently I just completed my CanSell certification so I can now legally sell cannabis in recreational stores.  Currently, I am living once again in Kingston Ontario. I am seeking employment and I am eager for the pandemic to be over so I can get to work & get to be out in the community.

Ashton Deroy writes: I wanted to introduce some of the popular links on the website and index them on this post. Hopefully introducing the articles to you will make a more favorable impression of me. My name is Ashton Deroy, I am 26, I have autism and write like a Liberal Socialist

. I do want to say while I am idealistic at times. I do think my websites have some good ideas and true feelings towards many aspects of the community.

Why I loved working at Hawkin’s Cheesies? – I am not sure if this article is trending ironically or if it is just because Hawkin’s has a low web presence and this indexed really well. Yes, I did love working at Hawkin’s Cheezies factory in Belleville Ontario. This is one of the fairest employers in all of Belleville. Still, this is a Social Democratic blog which means I talk about bad employers to. Which I say because I worked at Hawkin’s Cheesies after working at Hinduja Global solutions. This was a call center experience with a lot of downsides. The factory had a consistent schedule, clear expectations & they took employee health & safety seriously. The call center caused multiple stress-related health issues coupled with a demanding schedule where I would have trouble seeing a physician when needed. They also had clients who have had a lot of mainstream criticisms for bad taste business practices.

3 reasons I love Green Grass Oasis- Another post my readers seem to enjoy. Green grass Oasis is a Dispensary we used to be a spot we loved visiting on the Reservation. Since then we have actually been going more often to Organic Green Dispensary, also Legacy 4/20 is of high quality. Which is actually something I changed my mind about recently.

What I consider my bleak or more cringe-worthy writing?

Proof of Jango Property Management and Jamie Macari’s homophobia.

Being Jamie Macari ex Wrestler at Queen’s University intimidates tenants outside bathroom.

A Social philosophical look at honesty. Autistic Philosophy.

People, who inspire me to grow old?

Honestly, I am going to be embarrassed & I have been embarrassed by how I have run this website at times. On the other hand, this is a blog I have given a lot of my time and energy to. I have deleted full blogs so many times in the past, but I am at a stage now where I am going to keep all of my works up to the best of my ability. I am going to summarize below where my creative directions have been in the past with blogs.

Blog formats I have tried:

  1. Queer Brand Experience – A blog where I write negative reviews about things I have consumed.
  2. Journals -Insane Rambling.
  3. Environmental Photography blog – I was just really stoned and this seemed like a good & fun way to be an idiot.
  4. Bongs-R-Us – A Really stupid blog about weed.
  5. Toronto-Businessphere – I actually did some decent Business style writing here.

544 Victoria St, Kingston Ontario. The Weird communal living arrangement.

Ashton Deroy writes: Imagine a place with 5 bedrooms rooms, 1 living room, 1 kitchen and 1 bathroom. Now imagine living there with 3 other full time tenants and also 2 possible guests for an Air B&B or 1 other part time tenant. Now imagine the 2 months of headaches that follows. It is an environment of rotating bodies, too much closeness & the flashing thought of  “Hey who is that random person?”

To perceive a place such as this is to perceive a very fast approaching headache. It is establishing a goal for 3 people who are complete strangers to also live in a harmony of arbitrary rules & regulations. Needless to say what ever Jango Property Management is trying to do. It is psychotically unstable  with such a small shared communal living environment.

Lets face it all that plus the small space, lack of appropriate boundaries & the fact truth be told the 3 full time tenants had huge personalities was a track guaranteed for disaster. In fact you could easily write a book filled with conflicts to fill it. Like that book this house was filled with disaster scenarios. We had constant conflict. Also an entire lack of normalcy. There is something inherently about the top description paragraph I used that seems either like it is all part of some psychotic math question or a plan for dystopic future communal homes.

Facts are facts. Not everyone in the home needs a social life. However some people really should get them. Even if it means exhausting the effects & negative symptoms of over night guests. It took a little bit realize that there were only two possible reasons for a home to act under social contracts in this manner. This is either some kind of religious cult house. Or there are some serious lacking interpersonal Social Skills in this house that prevent people from forming adult interpersonal relationships. As usual the answer was a bit of both.

To people who read this blog… I am getting kind of tired of being exposed to uncivilized types who don’t live by a kindness first policy. They just expect people to help in an Air B&B without any special access to utility of the home. Just an implied expectation of being put to work for someone else’s interests. Whatever this is? It must be a plan to worsen the exploitation existing comfortably in Capitalism already. Or in other words?

A literal scam. Yep I compromised on the fact I am not supposed to live in a place that bans me from having overnight guests if I pay rent. (This is why I look at places with my brother from now on.) The idea is to pay rent and have some independence. Not to pay rent and live romantically abstinent!

What happened to me? From living in a cool stoner house in Belleville Ontario with actual cool people. To living in a Communal Air B&B on a street where human beings will literally sometimes take shits on. Yes I am saying this set up is dirty, gross & weird is simply an understatement. Also I think it is also driven me crazy renting the room across from this…

Construction

Not ruling this out: The construction project across the road has been waking me up at the crack of dawn for quite some time. I will say a lot of my time in this place has made me question if my sanity is slipping between my fingers. Lets just bare in mind most days I wake up to bad dreams of chainsaws masquerading as the construction noises across the road. There is a very real possibility that this has played a huge role in my loss of sanity at this address. Just saying, do not rule it out!

Positive notes to self for the way out and moving forward. I quit smoking tobacco again although it seems like a good way to tell if I am in my personal hell to an outsider is for them to just see me with a cigarette. If Ashton Deroy is holding a tobacco cigarette you can literally assume I am saying, “Fuck it I’d rather be dead.” When have I ever hidden that?  What am I afraid I am saying by writing it? The negative effects of cigarettes are taught in elementary school. That is just an objective truth about most people who smoke now. On some level they are choosing an action that at some point after done long enough will kill them. Although through overcoming loneliness & seeking company with other adults. I will survive and I will quit smoking.

3 reasons why Business people shouldn’t run the economy?

Ashton Deroy writes: This is blog going to be absolutely nuts. Someone with a Business diploma from Loyalist College is going to actually explain to you why we shouldn’t run the economy. This is straight out of crazy town. Except what will be said? Is totally & completely true.

Now yes this blog is a Socialist platform written by an autistic blogger. Yes we constantly argue the evils of the currents status of private ownership. It is hard to believe I came to this conclusion while taking a Business Diploma in college. Yet here it is. I don’t think just because you own something that it should mean you own people.

Here are my reasons I don’t think Business people should run our economy. For the purposes of this article we will use economy and society interchangeably. That is because the management of the economy directly correlates with the management of society. Economics in relation to Social Politics should be taught as one course. They are not separate topics at all!

  1. Single Bottom lines – Otherwise known as profits over planet and profits over people. Business people are made to put their own gains first. At the expense of everyone else! This is why 44% of jobs in Ontario earn minimum wage. Why is the economy failing? Largely this reason. We can’t run a people last economy otherwise people will not want to participate and society will indeed fall apart.  Companies will sacrifice life & limb just to report high profits. As a result the individual income has taken a huge blow and society is on a downward path.
  2. Greed is good logic – This is the kind of logic used to slowly remove the lowest earners in society not just out of the economy. Out of society & existence itself. Greed is not good! Cooperation is good. Social well-being is good. Elderly people not dying in a wait for long term care is good. Human trafficking victims getting access to safe housing is good. Greed is bad! It hinders our society and is a cost to our most marginalized people.
  3. They are idiots – I am comfortable saying after graduating a Business program at Loyalist College. That I was surrounded by selfish and dangerous idiots! They aim only to exploit people and improve convenience for themselves! Listen Loyalist College students who mostly skipped out Social Responsibility & Sustainability course. You demonstrated you were crappy people. I have no reason to validate what you are doing!
  4. They are against challenging the status qou – All these business people care about is ensuring their gains. Innovation is only welcome if they save money. Like the thousands of teachers the Progressive Conservative government in Ontario is currently trying to replace with computers. They look at innovation, for all of the wrong reasons and it is something we need to put a check in balance in place for .

We need to control Business people in our society. Not allow for the opposite. Greed is bad, idiots running democracy is a kleptocracy, profits are not the end all be all. The status quo sucks! We need to be more responsible and kind in how we operate society. If that means discrediting Business people then that is what I will do.

Transgender Fitness: How dance exercise helps with stereotypical feminine expression?

Ashton Deroy Writes: Hopefully this isn’t news for my readers but I identify as Gender Queer. I used to say in High School that the male gender was flexible enough for me to be feminine. Now I just identify as both masculine and feminine or in other words Gender Queer. Season 30 Episode 7 Werkin Mom Episode of the Simpsons, Homer Simpson says, “I guess these days it is okay for everyone to be everything.” Yeah, that sums up being genderqueer perfectly. Even though it is not as intellectual as one might want.

If I were training a Transgender Female client at a gym. I would recommend Zumba & Dance workouts. As far as learning & mastering forms of feminine expression. I can think of no better workout than dance for Transgender women to learn more feminine mannerisms. In fact, dance as a feminine expression can be traced back as a feminine expression as far as the Veiled dancers in 100 BC. From what I can gather from the artwork below the Veiled dancer was majestic & a form of performance artist for their time.

Veiled dancer

For me personally, dance exercise shows me what feminine moves I can do and which ones I can’t do. I have to keep my queer flame going as lively as possible. To me that isn’t going to be done with the butch workouts I do to tone my arms. I need a little loose expression, I need to shake my hips and move my feet. Also as an added bonus dance exercises have added a little bounce to my walk. This way I do not look as miserable when I am walking.

Besides dance, you may want to focus on workouts that shape particular areas of your body. I suggest mostly focussing on core & hips. Since many people born male didn’t grow up using a dance that worked from these areas of the body. They often don’t know how to do the feminine dancing from these movements outward. For me, it has been about 4 years of self-practicing dance and I have only now just finally gotten a little more flexibility in my hips.

Here are some more benefits of Dance exercise:

  1. Improved function of your heart & lungs
  2. Improving muscle tone & even strength
  3. Increased physical confidence
  4. Better social skills
  5. Improved balance
  6. Increased aerobic fitness
  7. Weight Management

According to Better Health

I can’t say enough about the benefits of dance! I get giddy just thinking about how good it is for you. I think of dance as the spiritual equivalent of brushing your teeth. The best reason to dance is to nurture your own soul.

Now if you are not a Transgender female or even genderqueer, but you still are intrigued at the prospect of dance exercise. I still say go for it! The purpose of this article is to get people thinking about the types of recommendations we can make for the purpose of Transgender fitness. I also think my readers would be interested to know that I don’t just focus on learning the masculine movements of fighting. I also focus on learning the feminine movements of the art of dance.

No excuses readers, go out there & start dancing! 😀

Why should visit your partner’s apartment before their WiFi is installed?

Ashton Deroy

About the author: Ashton Deroy is a millennial  writer with autism.  They are 26, partnered, Queer identified & a struggling vegetarian.

Purpose of blog: This is a conversational blog on relationships in 2020. The blog references Socialist culture, stereotypes & what the write personally views as healthy relationship practice. Please if you like the blog hit the like button & subscribe to this content. This website is a cooperative & it shares this spot with Swan Whispers ASMR which is my Spiritual Sister’s ASMR Vlog.

Technical aspects: Sign in to your Instagram & Facebook to view all parts of this blog. This is a Social media integrated blog.

Summary: This is a blog post for Millenials struggling in relationships. Millenials is mostly a label used to describe a generation of tech savvy irony obsessed whipper snappers. However some of the stereotypes made on Millenials are completely true. We are obsessed with the internet, to an unhealthy degree. I worked at a Telecom company called Rogers Communications and it was always the Millenials who lost their minds the most when their WiFi went down.

At a time when places without WiFi are equated to no go zones in the eyes of privileged Millenials. Why should Millenials visit their partners’ new apartment before the WiFi is installed? This weekend I visited my boyfriend Kaylib at his new place. I am going to write about the benefits of the WiFi free time we spent together. Maybe after this you will plan a retreat away from the WiFi with your loved one.

1. We got to indulge in my interests – This is because I had a laptop with cartoons saved on it & I downloaded audio books we could listen to. When people have WiFi?
There is an unlimited access to your seperate hobbies & interests.
When you go without Wifi? You have to collaborate a little. I had legally downloaded files of videos we could watch together from Netflix & we had audiobooks downloaded from Google Play. There
was an actual moment this weekend where Kaylib told me to play my audiobooks on Socialist Feminism & Democratic Economies. It was amazing to indulge my interests with Kaylib & get in to an economic discussion.
2. We took care of our relationship – Part of the Cultural Revitalization model I will be posting on my blog includes a section on a version of self-care only designed for relationships. Time without WiFi allows for
more focus on your partner. Which in turn allows more connective conversation, emotional conversation & intimate connection.
3. Got to help Kaylib with his living situation – This weekend was gratifying in a sense where Kaylib needed some muscle to carry a bookshelf from Wal-Mart to his house. I feel a sense of masculine gratification when I am needed to carry things especially for my partner. Even though I also identify as feminine, I still receive gratification from indulging in the masculine part of my identity.
A human being would not train Core De Force, Jillian Michaels Kickboxing Fast fix & UFC Fit 2014 if they weren’t obsessed with maintaining their basic function to carry heavy items & move them from one location to another. This is also a practical skill that one requires. It definitely feels good for the relationship to be able to help my partner with something that he needs. like lifting a bookshelf and carrying it home, which despite the physical demand. It was a worth wild challenge.  It is also important to notice that
in Socialist family culture cooperation & collaboration is key. You can’t have a family that you are unable to rely on in Socialist culture.
4. My partner cooked me breakfast – Now I know he probably could & would do this for me even with WiFi. However we definitely enjoyed doing this as a cooperative activity during the time without WiFi. Our mentality is very much egalitarian in the fact that if he cooks the dinner, I do the dishes. It is just the way to be. It is also little things like this that if you attempt to do them it shows someone that you are attempting to care for the environment that you are in. For other people with disabilities I highly recommend using this tactic to be respectful of the environment that houses you. Even it is for example for a weekend visit with your boyfriend. It is important to show them you care by equally sharing in the choirs & responsibilities so you are able to spend more time together.

Well that is all I want to write for today. Currently I am in a bad housing situation so I could go a while without updating this blog. I apologize to any consistent readers who are inconvenienced by this. I’d appreciate if everyone kept their subscription to my blog active however. I am grateful you subscribe & I am actually planning a dark manifesto on what happens if we don’t meet Sustainability goals. I am looking to call this piece the Decay Manifesto. Currently I am just in the process of considering how I want to display this creative as-semblance of essays, research & Conversational blogs. Please stay subscribed, this piece is going to blow your minds! Which I don’t state lightly.

Why you need to fund food?

Ashton Deroy writes: This blog is an open letter to anyone involved with Keys Job center in Kingston Ontario. The narrative not included in the letter sent to Keys Job center is that I fully blame the current Provincial administration under the Progressive Conservatives here. I have also emailed Kingston Ontario’s Provincial MP who is a representative on our side. They are an NDP representative which is Ontario’s Socialist representation who currently represent my political views as a Canadian Social Democrat/Socialist.

I maximized my emphasis on rage related to this issue because the impulsive decision to make austerity cuts that harm people who can’t express their best interests is reckless. If we want people to work? We have to feed them. We have to show them it is worth working in Kingston Ontario. We have to show them that society cares about them getting on their feet. This job center should not just be a cold place of work, work work. After all the coldness of our employers within Kingston Ontario is what I consider a large contributor to the issues of working poverty within our community.

To: Keys Job Center.

Why you need to fund food_

Purpose: To convince anyone involved with funding that Grocery cards must be seen as a necessity.

Outcome: I am hoping this will illustrate the reasons why helping with food is an essential service of this program. Not an accessory item.

Introduction: For the Keys job program I reminded myself everyday “Don’t be judgmental.” That is because it closes you off and alienates you from others. However, at this time, I believe you need a literal interpretation of the environment of YJC in order to accurately capture what is a necessity.  Despite the fact that I am a college graduate this program has been a vital contribution to my current survival. By the time I was out of college I was desperate to survive & make decisions such as my living situation that I could not make with capacity. One of the key issues was that I could not afford food, I was disorganized in my job search & I needed feedback because my resume was sub-par.

The first issue I mention is that I could not afford food & I was not alone because my peers were in the same boat. In fact, the lack of resources related to being able to afford food was related to many of the qualities in individual health that people told me about in the confidence of friendship from within the program. In my class, we had to vary the displayed results of malnourishment. Some of my peers had a weight that was excessively high due to poor access to healthy foods. Other of my peers were anorexic due to limited resources to acquire nutritional foods. Now I want to point out an absurdity.

The fact is I was a poor person should not have to explain to people who allocate funding why these food cards are a necessity. You should know! There is enough information out there where you should be able to make reasonable deductions about the quality of life of youth from the ages of 15-30 who can not obtain employment. For instance, you should be able to know that many of my peers would have trouble verbalizing in an articulate manner that they struggle to afford food. We should not have to say it in writing! You should know based on readily available information as a supportive member to the poorest class in the community of Kingston Ontario. This is the most important thing the program did for me within the span of 3 weeks.

Keys helped me organize my job hunt. I feel without that help I would have stayed at home or spent time begging just to try & survive. Through Keys, I wrote down leads for meaningful jobs that could develop into careers I turn in to long term success. Again though without the assistance of a grocery store gift card, I could not have been at Keys as often as I would. Job hunting is fine. However, the immediate needs for food are more pressing. I am not ashamed to say without Keys I would not be on a Productive path & I would drain Ontario Works for longer just trying to sort out basic needs for the meantime. Again talking about my situation is embarrassing, however maybe if I do someone else won’t have to explain the awkward indignities of being poor even after attending a College program as a disabled adult!

The program did a wonderful job helping resume organization & giving feedback on a job application. They helped me organize my professional experiences & strategize how to best sell myself to an employer. This task will help me with the use of a professional and creative CV for the next 2 years of my employment. Now I can reformat this resume when needed to search for better opportunities. As a bonus, I will say Dan did a better job than my college professors did at helping me format a resume. Something like this helps, but it is worthless on an empty stomach. If I did not have food I would not have come to Keys for this help. I would be spending my time at food banks & begging my family. Rather than focus on my professional development. This is something else I am embarrassed that I have to explain in the face of more Conservative cuts.

“You can not cut your way to prosperity.” Justin Trudeau 2019. I understand that our current administration at the provincial level is putting pressure on everyone to save money. However, the facts are facts. Ontario has rampant poverty which the UN defines as earning less than a dollar a day, illiteracy that is vastly underestimated & workers that would never be ready if not for the full contributions of the program such as a Youth Job Connection. If I have to explain these cuts to this extent, maybe guys don’t need just a letter! Maybe you need the common sense to hire more people like me who completed college & then were homeless the month after completing college! Maybe you need less privileged administrators who are not guaranteed their roof above their head, food on their plate & absolute safety! Maybe that it is what it will take to not have issues with stuff like justifying grocery cards as a necessity to the lowest class of people! If you are considering cutting the grocery card. My only question for you is,

“What the hell is wrong with you?”

Signed with outrage!

Diana’s preference in comparing: WWE vs UFC.

WWE vs UFC study

Originally written July 7 2018

Ashton Deroy writes:  The world of combat sports has been a world that appeals more to men than women. Sure you would have a few odd female fans watch wrestling & MMA. However, it was mostly a boys club. That was until the mainstream change of gender roles & perception in society. Fast forward to 2018 and the world has changed drastically. UFC a company that said would never have women fighters now has 3 weight classes. WWE also has some of the most well recognized modern female performers ever, including award winning and recognized women athletes.

Still there is always this division despite the similarities of the people attracted to the WWE brand & to the UFC brand. If you did a venn diagram some would in fact interlap. For the purpose of this study, the interlap will be ignored for the sake of choosing a winner. In this study, Diana Skye a non-wrestling or UFC fan is going to be exposed to entirely new world for which she has very little reference to create a non-biased winner.

Using YouTube channels, their shops & their characters. Diana is going to lock the two companies in a 3 round battle. Each evaluation for the round amounts to one point in a best of 3 battle. Only she will determine what product is more appealing to her. I, Ashton Deroy, will include my initial prediction in this study after Diana has separately made her own conclusions.

I predict Diana Skye will choose WWE. I think she will be drawn to the character development, theatrics & glamour. This is because Diana Skye is in to fictional books & movies. I think she has a flare for the dramatics. Also because Mixed Martial Arts was once described as human cock fighting. So I think that will be too shocking to gain her interest.

Summary

Diana Skye writes: To say that I didn’t know much about wrestling would be a massive understatement. The only time I recall seeing famous wrestlers on TV is briefly in the news, commercials featuring the legendary John Cena, and an episode of The Weakest Link featuring WWE members.  The idea of a sport that involved aggressive physical fighting just did not seem entertaining to me. When Ashton asked me to do this project, I decided it was about time to see what the wrestling hype was about.

I kept an open mind while doing my research. While I still wouldn’t call myself a wrestling fan, I definitely have a better understanding of this very interesting world. There is more to it than just people beating each other up. Both WWE and UFC have very profitable merch shops and YouTube channels with millions of subscribers. The wrestlers also have distinctive personalities and characters, with creative storylines. I gave both wrestling groups rankings in all of these categories. I can see why they both have many fans, but one has an edge in my opinion.

Merch has become an important part of branding, whether it’s for sports teams, small businesses, or YouTube entertainers. Even from just seeing the home pages, I immediately preferred the WWE Merch site. They had a large selection of items, including Funko Pops. Those were advertised right on the home page along with a variety of clothing items. Many of the designs were eye catching and represented the characters well.

The UFC Merch site did have some interesting items, however it was harder to navigate. They also seemed to have less variety. I immediately noticed a category called “blanket, beds, and bath.” I clicked expecting interesting items like bath products and several sleepwear options. Instead there was only one simple nightgown. While WWE didn’t have any sleepwear, there were many casual items like hoodies, t-shirts, and sweatpants. Variety in merch items is always a win for me, so I’m giving this round to WWE.

Both the WWE and UFC YouTube channels have a large following. (28 and 4.6 million respectively) While WWE has a much larger YouTube following, I much prefer UFC’s channel. WWE tends to post many short videos every day. Personally, I don’t like to have my subscription feed cluttered by one channel. Some of these shorter videos don’t provide much content since they are less than two minutes long. In spite of their fantastic merch shop, there wasn’t much mention of it.

By contrast, UFC does not post every day. However most of their videos are longer. (A length of at least 5 minutes) Even the shorter ones are more entertaining. You learn a lot about their wrestlers and upcoming fights. They also do a good job of advertising other services without shoving it down your throat. Even as a non-wrestling fan, I feel like I got a lot from their channel. Therefore, UFC is definitely the clear winner for this round.

Plot 3

Despite my lack of wrestling knowledge, I recognized many names while doing my research. For example, UFC wrestler Conor McGregor lost to Floyd Mayweather in a famous boxing match last year. There were also many interesting characters I was unaware of. Paul Felder is an Irish American who started martial arts training at age twelve. Alexis Davis and Sarah Kaufman are two badass Canadian women who have had huge success in recent years. It taught me that big personalities are just as important (if not more) as skill in wrestling.

WWE also has strong women like Ronda Rousey and Nikki Bella. However, the WWE characters and plots just didn’t intrigue me as much. The fights were intense, but not very memorable. I did enjoy the John Cena tribute, but many other Raw and Smackdown episodes were either not very exciting or downright outlandish. If I wanted to watch a wrestling event, I would much rather check out a UFC Championship. Therefore, they win this final round and the overall battle.

Winner: UFC

UFC

UFC has many fascinating characters and interesting storylines. They also post excellent videos on their YouTube channel. One thing they need to work on is the variety and items in the merch shop. They have many exciting characters so there is potential for awesome shirts, mugs, posters etc. Other than that, I preferred them in all categories. I would like to learn more about some of their personalities, such as the Canadian females I mentioned earlier.

WWE

WWE has their merch shop going for it, with a variety of attractive items. However, they need to work on the entertaining aspect. More interesting characters and plots would make them even more successful. They should also tweak a few things when it comes to their YouTube presence, like video length and amount of posts. Even though they didn’t win my battle, I think they have a lot of potential.

Conclusion

This was a very different experience for me since I usually write about makeup, social activism, or YouTube. I was skeptical when Ashton gave me this assignment, but I am glad he did. While I will never be a massive wrestling fangirl, I plan on continuing to learn more about it. I may check out a match the next time it’s on Sportsnet or TSN. The world of wrestling has a lot going for it and I can see why it has many fans.

3 things you can do when you don't like a performer critic's writing

Ashton Deroy writes: To Lily:  I assure you my post was not geared at some agenda. Just the fact I didn’t enjoy your show. I didn’t want to write in my first post that you were mad at me from Kingston Pride because I didn’t think you remembered me. Now I am going to warn you although people are largely on your side, the optics of public perception are also bringing me some support. Like way more support than if you had just of ignored me. Consider your klout. You have influence & reach. I really don’t.

About me & alcohol, I really don’t have a high tolerance. Also, I acknowledged my autism had nothing to do with how she behaved. I bring it up on my blog because I am indexed as an autistic blogger. That is why I brought it up online. It actually has nothing to do with her. The more I say autism, the more it helps my brand. “Autism, Autism, Autism.” , “ADHD ADHD ADHD.” It is actually funny. It is my condition I can mention it whenever I want. Also, it does have to do with why I was partially out of it at the bar. I am noise & light-sensitive. I used to wear those big soundproof headphones.

When you are a performer? It is hard to take criticism. People work very hard to perfect their art and style of engaging with the audience. Sometimes it can be upsetting when someone writes a review for you. Here are 3 things you can do to deal with a critic you don’t like:

  1. Ignore the critic – Right now my articles are being commented on, I am getting website hits. Which means I am gaining exposure. This is good for me as someone who runs a blog. I don’t think this helps with what you are trying to do. I don’t have much of an audience, I am not on stage or in any pageant’s. I have a website. That I don’t even use paid advertising anymore. I just share posts.
  2. Do not write a large reply – In Digital Marketing we learn that more words usually mean more attention. That would be great if you wanted attention to this. Since it is drama though, I am not sure you want to blow this up. It really only benefits the critic who wanted to just stir the pot to begin with. I really didn’t want to stir the pot. I just wanted to express disappointment. You overloaded on context though & now people can recognize this as an online rivalry where they can choose sides and again some people are choosing my side. Also here is what the reply did to my ratings. Ratings
  3.  Don’t provide context – Again this is in your best interest, not mine. I want people to know who I am from what I write. As your critic, you should want me to disappear in to unknown. Again what has happened by the large reply is that people really can acknowledge this as a rivalry now. Instead of just some loser who just writes reviews on their blog in a basement somewhere.

Below is Lily Devine’s reply and a hyperlink to the original article. I don’t know, I am glad she gave me 5 minutes of recognition & attention. She really gave me a chance to expand my Klout on an article that really was not that popular before she wrote her reply. She is right, we did have drama on Kingston Pride. When I wrote my article I was not going to include that history, but she brought it up. Which in my opinion only helps in telling my story, which is really what this website is about. If you think I should write more entertainment reviews, send me an email on the form below:

This was a reply to Dear Lilly DeVine

Dear Ashton Deroy of ashtonderoy.com

Picture of post

First I would like to thank you for once again going public to twist my words into your own agenda to further put a value on your socialism, by calling me many things I am not. To the point of even tagging me on Twitter, although you and your friends could have simply sent me a message directly to voice your concerns in an adult manner; it would have been dealt with months ago.

It was very enlightening to see your response to the last show you were at, from when you were just a minor sitting on an elected board position from when I was Miss Kingston Pride while screwing around with a board member old enough to be your grandfather to gain the grounds you ‘believed’ you had to do as you wish. Until you were removed from the board because of a rather distasteful video of me surfaced on your site so long ago doing exactly what you are doing now.

I would like to address the fact you were drunk enough that you were cut off after one drink, falling asleep at the front table where not only myself but other performers were performing. Even though I asked how many fingers I was holding up, making sure you weren’t passed out cold, I had also asked numerous times if you were ok and if you needed a cab called to get you home. As I did with your friends, who replied with ‘he’s ok, he’s just had too much to drink.’

Although your lack of understanding on what that could apply while sitting front row at a DRAG SHOW is of your own accord. HOWEVER, the fact of you being autistic had absolutely no bearing in the matter and NOT ONCE was brought up.

Your choice to blame me for your lack of involvement in anything LGBT2Q+ is a ploy to make your own wants and needs seem viable rather than leaving under your own accord, this is only appears to be an underlying issue you have with MANY LGBT2Q+ events over the years since our time on the pride board so long ago.

The fact of my personal story of being with ONE Asian man many years ago, was just that…a story turned into a joke at my own expense, due to him passing out drunk after showing me what could only be described as a grub sticking out of dirt.

Not that of an entire population, because IF your friend had also been sober enough to remember I had also stated that was not the case with all Asians because I have a very long list of favourites on my Pornhub account.

I am terribly sorry that your friend took offence, but yet again it here I sit that I have to explain myself to those who feel the need to smear my name, I did not know she was Asian in any capacity or anyone else there on what their nationality is or religion, political stance, etc.

As for my candid and unprofessional take on my once drag daughter, you see, unfortunately because of her attempts to destroy my name to make me into something I am not; she had also crossed the line because I am a single parent and she brought it to my home. To my business. And for that, my personal and business finances took a major blow in the Belleville area costing me much more than you can comprehend while sitting behind a keyboard creating a blog for your scholastic entertainment between friends.

If you truly believe Belleville is the ONLY place that suffers from major drug use, then my recommendation would be to crawl out of that cave you hide in and take a good look around. It’s a major issue EVERYWHERE, including mental health!

To say I don’t understand mental health is quite the slap in the face in regards to drug use, Ashton pot is not a drug in Canada!

Thanks for reading…but I do it better!

Oh and, my name is spelled LILY not LILLY

Why I loved working for Hawkins Cheezies?

Why I loved working for Hawkins Cheezies_

Ashton Deroy Writes: For me to approach my blog in a more mindful way. I must learn to come to topics not completely negatively & not entirely positive. I must learn to approach both positive topics such as my relationship, success in the workplace & academic success with negative topics such as workers’ rights in Canada, the rise of the stupidly selfish & inevitable hardships of a lower-middle-class income. The point is I have to balance my negatives & positives. It is the only sensible way to live in my writing.

That means today I am going to celebrate the success of a job I worked at for 2 months but went very well. For those reading my blog, this was not the first job I have had that I have enjoyed. It is just I have a lot of job experience where I faced limitations due to transportation, my disability & school. The success I am celebrating currently is my time at Hawkin’s Cheezies.

Why did this job go well for me? There was a work-life balance, the living situation stayed in good standing & my colleagues were friendly. What I have described are a lot of the barriers I have faced in retaining employment. For this time of two months, I was able to focus on going to work, ensuring my survival & as importantly enjoy my survival.

For this to work as well as it did for me my conditions were, I was in a home where I could count on staying in for this time. I had a schedule that ran Monday to Thursday 10 hours per shift & I had to do rehabilitative yoga exercises to ensure my body was not too stiff as to hinder physical coordination. Factory work can be very demanding work, fast-paced & hot. There was actually a day where I was too hot on the factory floor & I vomited. I did not go home, unlike a call center where I believe being sick hindered my performance too much. At the factory since I could successfully just change jackets, gloves, hairnet & hydrate then recover & still be able to work.

(The day I vomited at a factory I was attended to by a trained CPR professional & everything was instantly cleaned + at the code level for food handlers.) The attention to detail is part of what I loved about this factory job. They had a regulatory compliant culture, with socially responsible people & a work-oriented culture. This kind of competence is what made the job so attractive.

Why I loved working for Hawkins Cheezies specifically? I loved working for Hawkin’s cheezies because they had a culture where I could fit in. The Human Resources department used terms like “family time” in describing weekends & I was working with ambitious college students or graduates who were just between their education and career. We were able to have interesting conversations at lunchtime with smart people both in the workplace culture & the college students + graduates who brought their own interesting knowledge. The spirited lunchtime discussions I would have with my friend like Glessie for example definitely helped in enriching my experiences for the factory.

The colleague I befriended beyond the job. I am still friends with Glessie. I think since we resigned at the same time for the same purpose of going back to school we became friends in commonalities related to that. Also since Hawkin’s Cheezies had a culture of Family time on weekends, it opened an opportunity to go to events in Town with Glessie & our college Steph. We actually went into town & saw a drag show. It was awful… However, that event still creates something you can bond over with your comrades at work.

Hair net
This is the only selfie I recall taking at the Factory. This was not a Social media interactive workplace, nor do I really participate in Workplace social media unless I am committed to being a Corporate Citizen with an organization. This was also a time where I also looked brutal most of the time due to the Factory’s effect on my sleep cycle, stress on the body & the heat inside the factory.

Why I wanted to write this article? I wanted to write this piece why I loved working at Hawkin’s Cheezies is because I am talking about work how it really was. I am someone who struggles to keep a job with conflicting forces related to personal health, shelter & circumstance. I wanted to talk about this full-time job for what it really was, a life worth briefly having. I loved working at this factory, it is great management, great colleagues & a work-oriented atmosphere. I wish I could say more great things, unfortunately, the reality of the situation is as a full-time minimum wage job it still puts a lot of people in risky economic situations however I still think the workplace culture of this company deserves to be applauded. Working 40 hours a week Monday to Thursday was a positive life experience which gives me hope.

Is #MeToo culture really that inclusive?

feminism not misandry

This is a conversational blog written on deep personal experience & belief.

Ashton Deroy Writes: This may be hard to believe. However, sometimes the last thing a woman wants after being sexually assaulted, sexually harassed & or victimized in any way is to join a man-hater club. So she talks to her gay autistic friend who has been a sexual assault victim themselves. I don’t know why? However after explaining my story I have had women share their stories even after thinking how the mainstream media went about things with #MeToo was sensationalist. Let us not forget some of the movement has been used to prop up false allegations.

To expand #MeToo and a lot of other internet feminist movements are largely movements of misandry. What do you want me to say? Some straight women have a hard time getting on board with the idealistic gendercide views carried by the pro-matriarchal voice.  Why confide to me then? My ideology of socialist feminism is more respectful to men and women, I experienced sexual assault, & I use an unheard voice in the MeToo movement. These are the reasons I think some people would rather come out and tell their story to me. Not to the #MeToo movement.

What happened to me where women who had never talked about their sexual assault to other women because they did not want to join that cause? I largely credit my ideology in feminist thought. Why else would these women choose me as their first coming out contact rather than other affected women? Many of the talking points I use are my own individual thoughts, the rest are usually based on Socialist Feminism. I do not deny this anymore. I subscribe to a more inclusive ideology that works from common ground perspectives. Socialist feminism not only acknowledges hypergamy or women assuming the wealth class of their husbands. It also aims to create opportunities which eliminate the need for this. #MeToo feminism as a comparison is just a Public Relations sensation spectacle of women trying to take down men (Sometimes in false accusation to promote a left-wing agenda as seen in the 2019 Ontario Election with then Conservative leader.) d

The other reason women come out to me is I openly state I experienced sexual assault. My story isn’t pretty either. It involves a second cousin who I’d later find out had gotten me & my sibling (Although my sibling has repressed a lot). This helps them to talk about really harmful repressed things. I think a male talking about being the victim of sexual assault is actually a big deal and more helpful to females who experienced it as well but didn’t look to demonize all men.

Lastly, I often refer to the unheard voice of the #MeToo movement. That is disabled people. Autistic people & people with other disabilities are sexual assault victims all the time. However, in my opinion, they are not being heard, more needs to be done to address these in both households, long term care & social services. I remember when I was up n North Bay helping disabled friends with their living situation, one of them confessed to being molested by a C.A.S. worker. This needs to be acknowledged and preventative measures must be taken.

Listen to my point here it is there are many impractical ways to go about feminism #MeToo is just one impractical Public Relations way. It does not help the cause to integrate misandry & therefore divide the beliefs on gender. From a victim’s perspective it seems like if they come forward they have to start hating all men!  Personally, I believe Socialist feminism must be a model propped up to lead us going forward. The academic models will never work as well as the pro-worker & opportunity model. Also, as a last conclusion, I hate being the guy to tell a woman who still wants rewarding relationships with men that it is okay to call herself a feminist! That really is not the point of this movement. I was brought in by female leaders of thoughts & opinion. I would like it if that was still what brought women into feminism today.
