Ashton Deroy, writing on my CBD mood stabilizer.

Ashton Deroy writes: This blog is going to be more of a journal entry & less of a rant. Not that what I talk about on the blog isn’t important to me. My last podcast on over emphasis on independence in feminism is an important manner to me. That is mainly because I think Feminism has the duty at this time to teach healthy adult relationships to society. Not just in the matter of romantic relationships but also family relationships. I can think of so many times feminism with my Step Sister and Step brother needed to be the answer to their fight. I think the reason I get so passionate about feminism is because I have a lot of soul siblings of all genders I really care about. As I said some of them are independent and some of them are more dependent. I feel strongly that they deserve to be treated well & understood. A lot of my writing has to do with creating a narrative on Feminism that means something to those people.

To talk about something else personal though. My writing on this blog & online can take a really depressed & anxious tone a times. I am just going to be blunt with my readers. I have Autism, ADHD, Anxiety & Depression. Honestly I think you can sum that all up under the fact I have Autism since a lot of those things are a comorbidity to Autism.

A way to look at comorbidity2

I want my readers to know, sometimes it feels like my brain is just cooked. I think that is part of what makes me a good write & sometimes part of what can make me a bad writer. Again that is not a statement to undermine things that matter. Take for example:

  1. I don’t think Call centers are Socially responsible of members of the community.
  2. I feel Conservatism is cruel to disabled people. Conservatives say things like disabled people are entitled to less money in the workplace, that Disability is ad drain and that I am not a valued member of society. Here is the thing I want to work, but I don’t drive. I use transit and I need someone to create a schedule I can keep to & plan around.
  3. I think this pandemic does highlight the biggest values of Socialized Societies.
  4. I prefer labor rights to Universal Basic Income.

Maybe I could afford to change my presentation style on these topics though. I can openly admit that I am considering that. However, I want to be able to do that and still have my point heard. Sometimes it seems like people don’t want to stop being abusive until you make a fuss! The deliberate button pushers of prejudice!

At Keys Unemployment center in the Youth Job Connection program. We talked about things we were grateful for everyday in our journal. I feel like what I need to do now? Is repeat that action to conclude this blog. So I am grateful for…

  1. A woman becoming Impact Wrestling world Champion. By beating a male wrestler.
  2. My CBD, because this is the most pain relief I’ve had in days. Especially with the pandemic shaking up my routine so much.
  3. The friendly progressive people of Kingston Ontario. I don’t say this enough but people in Kingston Ontario are the nicest people.
  4. People providing Essential services. Workers are the hearts of our communities and many of you are not being paid enough. Especially those currently working in Grocery stores & Hospitals. These are two of the most high risk jobs in the community of Kingston Ontario.
  5. I am grateful I have heard call centers are sending some people to just handle calls from home. Yes this needs to be an option to reduce the spread of the virus.
Ashton Deroy & Autism weed
5.52% THC and 7.44% CBD. What I smoke by myself? Was picked out special with a nurse due to the fact I have a low tolerance. This allows me to use and function normal on my own.

Remove over emphasis on independence from feminism.

Ashton Deroy writes: “Feminism is about self-empowerment.” Says every capitalist Liberal/Libertarian feminist ever. It is wrong, it is an error in judgement that doesn’t fix the problem. Why isn’t feminism about teaching cooperative relationships both professionally and intimately? Why doesn’t feminism care more about the mental health crisis of loneliness? The answer is it does.

We just have to step away from the Capitalist mass produced feminism. The kind that allows Hinduja Global Solutions in Belleville Ontario to fire a woman for taking care of her father/family. The kind of feminism that serves a purpose only as a placeholder for regression and losing the rights women of the past fought so hard for. Feminism has to include democratic collectivism, unified theory and the ability to condemn Businesses & people who don’t follow the new order.

We can’t settle for Market feminism. It does not work! How can it be feminism if the women who want to participate can’t invite their boyfriends to join the revolutionary culture? It does not work. How can we allow for feminism without political purpose? It does not work. It defeats the idea entirely. We aren’t creating a system of equality. We are creating a Capitalist system that allows a woman to be oppressed the same as a man, which is not the point!

Feminism must be inclusive, egalitarian. It must fight for economic environmental justice. Anything else is not going to work. No one wants Hilary Clinton’s version of Liberal feminism anymore. We need something better! We need something that shakes the earth beneath us.

Building a Liberal Socialist. Popular articles on the website.

WIN_20200321_21_11_15_Pro

Intro: Socialists believe in equality, inclusion and collective responsibility. Liberals have values of justice based on freedom, equality, and fairness. In High School, I was a weirdo freshly converted into Environmental Liberalism from the guy with the scary slide show Al Gore. I went on to join the environmental club in high school & volunteered to handle E-waste causes. At the same time in East Northumberland Secondary School I was also involved with improving gay rights & fighting discrimination at the school.

Fighting: Okay a lot of people I think will be upset if I don’t mention fighting discrimination meant actually learning to fight. Yes at ENSS I was on the wrestling team. In college at Seneca, while working on my second Loyalist College diploma, I learned Kickboxing. Up until grade 8 living in Trenton Ontario is a bit of a rough life. So we learned to fight among a Social group. Then in High School I joined my Wrestling team & learned boxing in college. I still work to stay in fighting shape even though I no longer participate in martial arts actively. What I found out by training fighting? If you stay in fighting shape & keep a good moral character the chances are you will never have to fight.

From there I went to Loyalist College got two diplomas in Advertising & Business. I went to College in Kingston Ontario for a Graduate Certificate program in Interactive marketing communications. Recently I just completed my CanSell certification so I can now legally sell cannabis in recreational stores.  Currently, I am living once again in Kingston Ontario. I am seeking employment and I am eager for the pandemic to be over so I can get to work & get to be out in the community.

Ashton Deroy writes: I wanted to introduce some of the popular links on the website and index them on this post. Hopefully introducing the articles to you will make a more favorable impression of me. My name is Ashton Deroy, I am 26, I have autism and write like a Liberal Socialist

. I do want to say while I am idealistic at times. I do think my websites have some good ideas and true feelings towards many aspects of the community.

Why I loved working at Hawkin’s Cheesies? – I am not sure if this article is trending ironically or if it is just because Hawkin’s has a low web presence and this indexed really well. Yes, I did love working at Hawkin’s Cheezies factory in Belleville Ontario. This is one of the fairest employers in all of Belleville. Still, this is a Social Democratic blog which means I talk about bad employers to. Which I say because I worked at Hawkin’s Cheesies after working at Hinduja Global solutions. This was a call center experience with a lot of downsides. The factory had a consistent schedule, clear expectations & they took employee health & safety seriously. The call center caused multiple stress-related health issues coupled with a demanding schedule where I would have trouble seeing a physician when needed. They also had clients who have had a lot of mainstream criticisms for bad taste business practices.

3 reasons I love Green Grass Oasis- Another post my readers seem to enjoy. Green grass Oasis is a Dispensary we used to be a spot we loved visiting on the Reservation. Since then we have actually been going more often to Organic Green Dispensary, also Legacy 4/20 is of high quality. Which is actually something I changed my mind about recently.

What I consider my bleak or more cringe-worthy writing?

Proof of Jango Property Management and Jamie Macari’s homophobia.

Being Jamie Macari ex Wrestler at Queen’s University intimidates tenants outside bathroom.

A Social philosophical look at honesty. Autistic Philosophy.

More positive writing

People, who inspire me to grow old?

Honestly, I am going to be embarrassed & I have been embarrassed by how I have run this website at times. On the other hand, this is a blog I have given a lot of my time and energy to. I have deleted full blogs so many times in the past, but I am at a stage now where I am going to keep all of my works up to the best of my ability. I am going to summarize below where my creative directions have been in the past with blogs.

Blog formats I have tried:

  1. Queer Brand Experience – A blog where I write negative reviews about things I have consumed.
  2. Journals -Insane Rambling.
  3. Environmental Photography blog – I was just really stoned and this seemed like a good & fun way to be an idiot.
  4. Bongs-R-Us – A Really stupid blog about weed.
  5. Toronto-Businessphere – I actually did some decent Business style writing here.

Move over Capitalism, Socialism is taking the higher ground. A Pandemic discussion from self-isolation.

Ashton Deroy Writes: It appears Covid19 is only intensifying talks of Socialism and what we do and don’t want for it. What are our new rules? What do they mean for us? How is Socialism taking the higher social grounds during this pandemic?

Socialism is a system of governance that happens either by necessity or by agitation. After all it is said that after World War 2 Socialism rebuilt the United Kingdom. While in another example in the case of Cuba the people got tired of Western democracy and capitalism. The people revolted and overthrew it!

Regardless Socialism is here right now. What are the the new rules & features? Well it seems like one feature society does not want to put down is Universal Basic income. It seems like that will have to find a place in whatever Social system is set up in place of our current system. There is just an overall agreement that Pandemic’s show a crucial time for the use of a Universal Basic Income. Especially in cases of turning people away from certain irresponsible employers still operating their infectious office places of work during this time. I am definitely talking about call centers.

What does Universal Basic Income mean for us? It means reconsidering what work we think is worth doing at this time. One might argue that to flatten the curve in relation to Covid19. We may want to consider buying out the participation of unskilled laborers in the economy so that we can ease the burden felt by healthcare later. I also believe after we could return to a labor economy that would be the ideal in the long run though.

We also need to look at improving the treatment of the elderly. This includes not unnecessarily avoiding elderly relatives who may be dependent on the help of others. Don’t get me wrong. This is an incredibly complex time where we have to consider whether a cold we have could possibly kill our grandparents. However according to people working in healthcare and finance a lot the elderly go abandoned in times of mass pandemic. Which in the long run is not going to help their overall well-being.

The Corona-virus is statistically devastating because it does have the potential to be the sickness to wipe out many of our older relatives. On the other hand sometimes you have to weigh infection versus how safe an elderly person can practically take care of themselves on their own. We need to come up with solutions so that the elderly don’t feel abandoned at this time. This may include the feature in looking at the cost of socialized home care for older people in the communities.

Why Socialism is on the higher moral ground? Socialism asks “What are our obligations to each other?” Where as Capitalism naturally asks, “what are our obligations to ourselves?” We have a responsibility to a collective at this point in time. If you have the chance put down your self interests and be strategic in your collectives.

StarTek Still must be held accountable…

Star Tek must be held accountable.

Ashton Deroy Writes:

Sourced: https://ca.indeed.com/cmp/Startek/reviews

This place is exactly like many of the negative reviews. In fact, it’s worse. Mega clicky environment, if you don’t fit in you, ‘ll be either ignored, talked about or bullied passively by management and co-workers. Its who you know and those with friends here get the best shifts, can slack be late and they watch their backs and don’t get fired. Training is seriously a nightmare because it is so boring and made for 8-year-olds or younger. You have to sit in class and play silly games in a group and answer the most childish questions like why you shouldn’t say bad words etc.

If you are in a class where others goof around, are loud make rude comments and you complain, management will do nothing. They talk about policy and rules for bullying, harassment but there is racism, sexism and bullying and even when they know and it’s reported they do zero to address it. If you don’t want to play their games or join in in one of their huddles or food sharing then you will be hated and you won’t last there.” – Tech support StarTek.

This is a criminal offense & this is disgusting! We need to deal with StarTek in Kingston Ontario and assess the fact that at this time it does not fit into the Kingston Community ideals. Maybe we need to copy other communities and kick StarTek out of the community. All I am saying is definitely do not rule it out!

Kingston Ontario values equality, human dignity & living wages. We can not simply justify even leaving StarTek alone. They must be addressed with the full extent of our powers. This means sharing information on multiple platforms and continuing to follow up with bad employee experiences.

Demands at this time!

  1. StarTek must provide a living wage – This is non-negotiable. If you want to employ over 100 people in Kingston it is my social prerogative to demand you provide those employees with a living wage. This is the living wage…. https://www.thewhig.com/news/local-news/living-wage-gains-traction-with-city-plan MAKE THIS CHANGE NOW!
  2. Racism & Bullying must be addressed in a satisfactory way – This even means mitigating the bullying committed by management. No, we do not recognize your interpretation of employment laws and individual reviews!  Stop bullying people out of the building. Again I repeat. MAKE THIS CHANGE NOW!
  3. Human resources – It has been brought to my attention by my network of ex and current StarTek employees that HR is currently just a pawn for Corporate interests. Your Human Resources needs to be reviewed by employees at StarTek and we need to determine if a conflict of interest is blocking the correct execution of employee rights as stated by law. Not as interpreted by corporate interests. If Human Resources is biased towards the company than they must be removed immediately. THIS NEEDS TO BE CHANGED NOW!
  4. Ex Employees call for the alienation of StarTek Booths at job fairs. Until such a time when their work standards are fixed. We are calling for unemployed people to not engage with StarTek out in the community. They are not welcome members of the Kingston Ontario community period!
  5. Sick notes are over & so are sick day limits – Workers must be allowed to regulate their own sick notes. Also to take sick days at their own discretion. No one chooses to get sick. No one skips a day of pay without thought.

My Step mom Tracy Carpenter

Tracy carpenter

Ashton Deroy Writes: I have been studying moral philosophy and I needed to do a shout out. Not a lot of people know this but I would consider Tracy Carpenter as the most moral person I know. She is a check & balance on bad habits. Great at encouraging better habits & she is an excellent adviser in Quality of actions.

We have to take inventory of the positive people in our lives. Especially as Autistic people living in intense anxiety.  I just think with me studying Moral Philosophy on Coursera

I need to take inventory of who I consider moral in my personal life. I have written about family occasionally where I have said some have behaved in immoral fashion. I would include me in the bunch of them. However Tracy always talks about addictions issues, times where people lack moral character & she has given her friends much needed advice.

The New School: Is Liberal Socialism Possible? | How To Be An Anti-Capitalist in the 21st Century

Subscribe to the New School on YouTube

A One-Day Conference in Memory of Erik Olin Wright. Erik Olin Wright spent the last years of his life thinking about ways to challenge and transform capitalist societies. He distilled his thinking in a book, How to Be an Anti-Capitalist in the 21st Century (Verso, 2019). The symposium is designed to launch a debate about the strengths and weaknesses of Wright’s approach. We seek to both honor our colleague’s memory and assure that his ideas become part of current discussions of socialism and socialist strategy.

The event will consist of three panels during the day and an evening session that will include tributes to Wright and a keynote by his friend, Ira Katznelson. Full program: http://www.capitalismstudies.org/anti… This event is co-sponsored by the Robert L. Heilbroner Center for Capitalism Studies and the journal, Politics & Society.

Stance on Universal Basic Income

Ashton Deroy Writes: Universal Basic income is basically an expansionary Economic policy that aims to provide people with a basic income that meets minimum living standards. (In my opinion the Social welfare program is preferable due to the employment created for Social Service workers, Career Counselors & administrators.)

I am going to keep this post short because I am not for or against Universal Basic Income. My Dad thinks it is a good idea but I am less sure. I will keep my opinion mostly to two points. 1. We have to greater incentivize working to prosperity. 2. We need a strong means to fund a program like this & the ability to hit the emergency breaks as soon as required. These programs have driven Communist Socialist countries to break.

CBC “Ontario’s basic income pilot project was widely expected to last three years in order to figure out if it could replace other social support systems. But it’s being axed early. The new provincial government deemed the program a failure, but many participants say it was a lifeline.”

Where I believe the program failed? Promising a 3-year commitment to these people before an election. The program was not encouraging the participants enough to step away from a government Social program into more stable full-time employment. Lastly, the program didn’t hire any Social Service Workers to monitor any type of mental or Economic progress. (Are you affected by this program being pulled? Get angry, get loud and get Anti-Conservative!)

You are not going to win my vote on this Universal Basic Income concept. Despite the fact, I acted politically to protect it by supporting Kathleen Wynne in re-election in 2018. I need to see broader Economic planning, a clear statement of values & demonstrated competence. 2022 is going to be the year of the next Provincial Election. I am leaning towards Ontario’s NDP Party because of the outstanding work of Andrea Horwath as the Official Opposition.

Why Conservatism is now an immoral choice?

Ashton Deroy writes: Minimalists, Militarists & overly traditional. There was a time where if I said that you would think I was referring to the Economic organization of the Communists of Russia. Now it is something being associated with the Conservative allegiances of Canada. I actually took a Moralities course through Coursera to try and shed my desire for Political division. Unfortunately it has only strengthened my Political Prejudice.

First off all let us look at Minimalism. Minimalism was part of the failures of Socialism established by Communist Society. Making the farmers’ crops owned by the state & redistributed Socially was a good idea. Until the crops became scarce! Well the fruits of Capitalism are now in scarcity & the argument for a boring Conservative minimalist candidate is inherently contradictory to propping capitalism. Besides that, it makes Conservatism into something it was never supposed to be. Conservatism was only meant to make society enjoy the benefits of Austerity for wealthy individuals. If you do not benefit from wealth related to austerity then Conservatism no longer makes sense to you. You only hurt everyone else with an expectation of financial minimalism and the thought process you can always do more with less which was a moral criticism exclusive to Socialism initially.

Militarists, Andrew Scheer was ready to endorse insane and scary Military expansions.  My Conservative relatives can’t even make sense of a gym membership unless you intend to use it to join the army. This culture is scary, it lacks choice & it is frankly demeaning that if you are a lower income male you are automatically expected to enlist. My family is always ready to discuss the virtues of a military career. Due to the fact they quite often are babies with limited imaginations and problem solving abilities. The Capitalist Market is to only be about choices. If you are recommending every poor male join the army… Something isn’t working right. You are being immoral and supporting a vast military with no limits to growth & financial size.

The final problem is the over emphasis on Traditionalism. We still have a system plagued by over emphasis on the way things have always been done. Meanwhile the way things have always been done have long stopped working for Canadians. We need to expand the roles and rights of women in the workplace. We need to make our Economy more inclusive and less of an imaginary meritocracy. We need to not debate whether it is acceptable to vote in to power openly homophobic or just corrupt politicians influenced by a god complex and Evangelical definition of moral purity.  One of the most important things I think you can take from History & Morality is that right wingers tend to believe they can commit numerous injustices to the people. Yet they will always believe them to be moral actions. Despite never clearly defining morality or ever using a lead by example method. Also that genocide & racist laws are the example of where Traditional laws fall short by cliche.  For example Germany referred back to their old imperialist values when creating the Nazi government order.

Yes I am sorry but if you stand in the way progressive re-organization of a broken system. I have to hold you morally responsible under the guides of Liberal Socialist democracy. We need to say Traditional Bigotry is unacceptable. We need to re-ignite the flames of the early Anti-War Movements of the 1960’s and we need to draw back on our old values which valued a capitalism as an alternative to scarcity not a model to promote it. If I should ever find myself sitting among bottom tier of society. I might summon the courage to call myself a Socialist.
