Transgender Fitness: How dance exercise helps with stereotypical feminine expression?

Ashton Deroy Writes: Hopefully this isn’t news for my readers but I identify as Gender Queer. I used to say in High School that the male gender was flexible enough for me to be feminine. Now I just identify as both masculine and feminine or in other words Gender Queer. Season 30 Episode 7 Werkin Mom Episode of the Simpsons, Homer Simpson says, “I guess these days it is okay for everyone to be everything.” Yeah, that sums up being genderqueer perfectly. Even though it is not as intellectual as one might want.

If I were training a Transgender Female client at a gym. I would recommend Zumba & Dance workouts. As far as learning & mastering forms of feminine expression. I can think of no better workout than dance for Transgender women to learn more feminine mannerisms. In fact, dance as a feminine expression can be traced back as a feminine expression as far as the Veiled dancers in 100 BC. From what I can gather from the artwork below the Veiled dancer was majestic & a form of performance artist for their time.

Veiled dancer

For me personally, dance exercise shows me what feminine moves I can do and which ones I can’t do. I have to keep my queer flame going as lively as possible. To me that isn’t going to be done with the butch workouts I do to tone my arms. I need a little loose expression, I need to shake my hips and move my feet. Also as an added bonus dance exercises have added a little bounce to my walk. This way I do not look as miserable when I am walking.

Besides dance, you may want to focus on workouts that shape particular areas of your body. I suggest mostly focussing on core & hips. Since many people born male didn’t grow up using a dance that worked from these areas of the body. They often don’t know how to do the feminine dancing from these movements outward. For me, it has been about 4 years of self-practicing dance and I have only now just finally gotten a little more flexibility in my hips.

Here are some more benefits of Dance exercise:

  1. Improved function of your heart & lungs
  2. Improving muscle tone & even strength
  3. Increased physical confidence
  4. Better social skills
  5. Improved balance
  6. Increased aerobic fitness
  7. Weight Management

According to Better Health

I can’t say enough about the benefits of dance! I get giddy just thinking about how good it is for you. I think of dance as the spiritual equivalent of brushing your teeth. The best reason to dance is to nurture your own soul.

Now if you are not a Transgender female or even genderqueer, but you still are intrigued at the prospect of dance exercise. I still say go for it! The purpose of this article is to get people thinking about the types of recommendations we can make for the purpose of Transgender fitness. I also think my readers would be interested to know that I don’t just focus on learning the masculine movements of fighting. I also focus on learning the feminine movements of the art of dance.

No excuses readers, go out there & start dancing! 😀

Locks are installed

Locks are installed

Ashton Deroy Writes: My campaign for bedroom door locks is over readers. As of February 7th 2020 me and the female tenant I have referred to have had locks installed on our doors. We are now sleeping through the night more soundly & I am more sure now that my life’s work will be protected. I don’t know if you have caught on by now, but a adversarial Public Relations campaign is not a first choice move I like to go to.

This was a move I went to after having exhausted options of discussion. Despite the success of the locks campaign I will still be changing addresses March 31st 2020. I don’t think it is wise to live under the rental of a property management company that needs so much opposition to hold up bare minimum legal rights. I say this, thankful they completed the lock installation but weary of the future.

As a result the legal matters between Jango Property Management, Jamie Macari & I will be moved out of the public spot light. I have moved the prior blog articles/branding to a safe storage. I have also stopped my claims to Air BnB & Municipal bylaws. Thank you to my readers & anyone in the community who may of helped with our cause. We truly could not of effected change without a community that is engaged & paying attention to our web space.

You guys are the best!

Sincerely

Ashton Deroy
