Note: Philip Candace Meeks is a Public Person. To further prove Pride is an Entertainment organization she is an actress. Which means we can publish opinions on them. I have paid to see her in a play. Talking about her is literally an extension of my Free Speech Privileges. However this is AshtonDeroy.com I can also talk about people and call it autobiographical which is also Free Speech. I know it is tough to comprehend.

I am sure people from Bay of Quinte Pride have made a case that I am a bully and that the organization is all rainbows & puppies. However if Friends support the passionate pursuits of their friends. Candace hasn’t been that good of a friend. Even by her remarks. I can tell she hasn’t even read one of my blogs. Just skimmed and looked for something to pick at. It looks like I have supported her and she expected me to keep my use of criticism in speech in line with her ambitions. I do have news…. The Anti-Volunteer Blogs have been well received. I’ve had people say to me in person this is a real punch in the face to Conservative Values. ‘Yeah that was the idea.”

My job is to take things we take for granted. Use my opinion to color my observations. Then challenge the common opinion of the area. I am a Socialist Progressive Writer in a low education, low income Conservative area. If you can’t handle that? We truly aren’t friends. I don’t want to censor myself for a Friend the way I would for an Employer well employed.

‘And you like every man ever gaslit me.” This is the problem when your friend is a Unconditional Victim to the male gender. I am going to surprise people. I am going to say I think Candace has been mistreated by men. Statistically and culturally that would not be overly unique. However what we don’t talk about? Is after a woman has received some kind of abuse. She herself can become an abusive actor if she doesn’t closely self-examine. Abuse is a Mentally paradigm shifting experience that can shift our entire person if we aren’t careful. It teaches us to normalize being aggressive to get our own way. Yes I am a victim of child abuse. I struggle with passive aggression. However I am pretty open with my distain for Volunteering.

I had to fire back at Candace and flip the script on her. You need to know these things Candace Meeks. You aren’t the victim because someone separates from your agenda and passions. Honestly if I got some honesty and self-examination. These articles might of been a 1 and done situation. I would of walked away and said

‘There is no worthy conflict here.”

I still want to know. What are the benefits driving event partners of Bay of Quinte Pride?

If the city cares enough to raise the flag. Why can’t they find room to turn volunteers of this organization into paid workers?

Why does an organization doing an output of entertainment and Tourism activities require volunteers? Not being able to be everywhere at once is not a good enough reason.

At the end of the day it boils down to. We shouldn’t be able to keep government budgets lean by not paying workers. That is a step too far in the Right Wing Direction and I won’t act like it is something I should just be ok with. I think Belleville Ontario needs to make a serious pledge to less volunteering and more paid work in the future. Self censoring is something we should do for our employment but it isn’t something I am willing to do for personal relationships. Self-censoring is and always will be a ticking time bomb of Passive Aggressive behavior.
